Gulf Exchange buys and sells 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K gold at branches across Qatar. If you are planning to sell, there is one requirement worth knowing before you travel.

Bring the original purchase invoice

Customers intending to sell gold must present the original purchase invoice. If you no longer have it, a police report must be obtained and submitted to Gulf Exchange before the sale can proceed.

This is not a formality we can waive. It protects both you and us, and it applies to every sale.

How the price is set

Gold is bought and sold at the prevailing market rate. Our published prices are updated by our team each business day, and you can see the current figures on the gold rates page.

The price you receive is the published rate for that karat, multiplied by the verified weight. Our staff weigh and assess the gold in front of you and show you the calculation before anything is settled.

Returns and cancellations

If a transaction is returned or cancelled, whether on the same day or later, it is settled based on the market rate in effect at the time of the return, not the rate on the original day. Gold prices move, so this can work in either direction.

What to bring

  • Your Qatar ID or passport, original
  • The original purchase invoice for the gold
  • The gold itself
